Nominations will only be accepted via the online form prior to the deadline. Nominations must adhere to the general eligibility criteria and the category-specific criteria. Nominations must be original each year and in each category. TIAC reserves the right to re-categorize or reject nominations that do not meet these rules or criteria, or the spirit of the awards program.

Evaluation

Nominations will be reviewed and scored online by a panel of judges using a confidential award administration software package. The judging committee is selected from among the industry, and consists of persons who are not associated with the nomination process or any of the nominees. Judges who have a conflict of interest are expected to recluse themselves from judging the category in question.

Each question on the nomination form is assigned a weight relative to the total score. The weighting of each question varies, depending on the number of questions and the nature of the questions in each category.

The judges will impartially evaluate the responses to the questions and assign each response a score. The scores for each question are tallied to determine each nominee’s total score. The average score for each nominee is then calculated based on the number of judges in the category.

The nomination process and judging process for the CTHRC Award for Excellence in Human Resources are different than the other awards. This award is managed by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council. For this award, a national judging committee will be identified, consisting of persons who are not associated with the nomination process or any of the nominees, and will identify the three finalists and the recipient.
